Supporting Information Guidelines
The Documentation Standards and Consistency Checks for IUCN Red List Assessments and Species Accounts (also known as the Supporting Information Guidelines) provides guidance on the required and recommended supporting information for Red List assessments. It also provides guidance on the writing style and format that should be used for all IUCN Red List assessments.
This document is available in English only.
For Red List assessments that require attached supplementary information (to show data, tables, figures, etc.), assessors can download the standard Word document template using the links below.
- Red List Supplementary Information template (portrait format)
- Red List Supplementary Information template (landscape format)
- Red List Supplementary Information: Bioclimate Model template
When attaching supporting information files to assessments in SIS, please attach these as Word files and not as PDFs.
Please note that only one supplementary information document can be attached to a Red List assessment. For example, if you have used a bioclimate model for the assessment and you also want to include additional information in the supplementary information document, please combine the information into one Word document.
